Cheshire West Primary Science Network

This package of subject knowledge CPD will support teachers to understand the core purposes for doing a practical activity in their primary science classroom. The content draws on the findings of the report ‘Purposeful practical work in primary science’, published March 2025. Class teachers will consider how to plan their children’s learning in science to ensure all practical activities have a clear purpose and are scaffolded to meet the needs of all children. The package consists of 7 CPD sessions, with one per year group from EYFS to Year 6.
